My wife has throw over saddle bags on her Savage. No problem on the left side but the right side started rubbing against the tire. I bought a simple "L" bracket, cut to right size, and attached it using the indicator bracket screw. The bracket holds the bag out perfectly, cost me $1.99. and can't really be seen behind the bag.
